Kim is a certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist, inspired and trained by many great teachers. She is devoted to sharing the art/science of yoga and all its many benefits. Classes offer an encouraging, safe, and supportive environment to explore yourself whether you’re interested in yoga as exercise, health care, stress or pain relief, expression, self awareness, or to find your roots and let your heart blossom. "Kim is an instinctive yoga instructor. She teaches with clear instruction – challenging yet thoughtful, with strong experience and pure knowledge of the poses. Each visit to her studio is a gift." - Barbara from Maryland I have practiced yoga for the last few years with Kim at Yoga Chandra. In my 60’s and never having done yoga before, I have found it to be very good for self awareness – breathing, and body structure, posture, and energy level. There is yoga for almost any age or body type and, as Kim instructs, even for those with physical limitations as well. I look forward every week to the class or private lessons and occasionally treat myself to a Thai Yoga Session. I believe it has made a difference in my general well being…a happy yoga-er." - Ann |

From my first yoga class with Kim in 2000 I thought, Wow! This is fun. I want to know more about this. After several months I told Kim, "I haven’t felt this good in fifteen years! I knew I had found a path that would support and sustain me. As my practice grew I studied with Kim and began teaching at Yoga Chandra part time. Having worked for many years with young children as a Reading Specialist as well as providing teacher training, the teaching aspect of Yoga seemed right for me. In 2007, I completed my 200 hour certification through The Lotus Room in Tampa Florida and became a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. During my training I worked with Karin Stephan, a master BKS Iyengar Teacher and Val Spies who has deep roots in the Kripalu tradition. This training provided me with a strong and varied background. My teaching is grounded in the principles of alignment and breath work which provide a safe, strong foundation on which to build. The tone of my classes is joyful and non-competitive showing respect for the uniqueness of each individual. My goal is to provide a supportive environment in which to share the joy and benefits of yoga |
